Very sensitively photographed and put together. The music is haunting as
well. I would be interested in learning whether you have a particular
interest in the camp @ Heart Mt. My father’s family were sent there from
Auburn, WA via Ferndale Assy Center & Tule Lake. FYI an interpretive center
is being designed & built there with a grand opening scheduled for August
2011.
This video brought back alot of memories as I spent part of my childhood in
the camp from 1942-1944. I also stopped by there in 1962 and met the wife
of a farmer who was farming most of the site. They lived in a remodeled
barracks back then. It looks like the farm and they are long gone.
Howard, I am sorry that it took me so long to get back to you. Thank you
for responding to the video. For me, it was a very interesting place
althrough a very sad part of our history. It had to be very hard for you to
go back there.
Oops, I mean “Pinedale Assy Center”. Just completed a personal pilgrimage
to Heart Mt. and the Interprtive Learning Center is a masterpiece of
telling a complex story very effectively.
